INTENT TO HOUSE

What is INTENT TO HOUSE?

Quite simply, INTENT TO HOUSE is a new funding initiative, within Telford and Wrekin, with the aim of raising money to fund the purchase of single self-contained flats for people who have been street-homeless. What makes this initiative even more exciting is that for every £1 donated, it will be matched pound for pound by anonymous benefactors up to £50,000!

The fund is to kickstart the development of ambitious plans to widen access to accommodation for single homeless in Telford and Wrekin. In particular, it seeks to help individuals who have been marginalised by traditional housing provision, as well as addressing inequalities of opportunity, due to homelessness.

INTENT TO HOUSE has three main purposes:

the prevention or relief of poverty due to homelessness.

1

the advancement of equality, education, and both physical and mental wellness.

2

the advancement of the eradication of street homelessness.

3

KiP Telford has been chosen as the charity who will receive match funding from the Intent To House legacy fund.

Since 2005, KiP, a registered charity, has supported individuals facing homelessness or the risk of rough sleeping across Telford and Wrekin, offering assistance at their point of need. Over the years, KiP has helped thousands who struggle to secure stable housing due to various personal challenges, which often deter private landlords from renting to them. In partnership with local agencies and socially conscious landlords, KiP will give assistance  to access suitable accommodation and support services, addressing individual needs and helping the most marginalised rebuild their lives with renewed hope.

Make a donation, make a difference.

There are three funding priorities:

To create strong relationships in and across the communities of Telford and Wrekin with the desire to see permanent homes for the homeless.

To create living spaces where individuals can live safely, independently and is appropriate to their needs.

To create opportunities and confidence from a secure home to enable individuals to fulfil their potential.
